If you are completely sick and tired of all these “internet business/marketing systems” which claim to show you how to make $300,000 in 2 weeks with “no experience necessary”,”half an hour of work a day”,”easy to follow system” etc etc etc, then you’re not alone.
There are literally hundreds of these sites on the internet and it took me two years and $2608 before I finally realised I was being suckered into buying alot of rubbish!
The problem is that all these get rich quick “opportunities” are all marketed vigorously by internet marketeers who’s strategy is to build up a big email list, then use creative marketing hype and words to direct you to the “opportunity”. Once on the directed website of the “opportunity”, you are then faced with the typical attention grabbing headline which usually goes along the lines of “25 year old high school drop out makes $23,200 in one day using a loophole, now he uncovers his secrets……..”
You are of course then taken through the “Web Copy” sales page using all the known psychological triggers, time sensitive offers, free special offer bonuses (I have yet to see a sell page without a “special offer”), 100% risk free trial etc.
Actually here is a really funny site you can look at which just epitomises web marketing sales copy http://www.buymystupidebook.com
The idea is that you end up buying the “amazing” product and the internet marketeer who introduced the site to you gets their affiliate commission. The creator of the product also gets their money. You the buyer get the promised product.
Now here’s what happens next to most people. You get the product and follow the “system”. The first two days, you feel motivated and are determined to put hard work into it to make at least $200 this month to recover your investment and to also prove to yourself that you can make an income from it. You know the headline and claims as shown on the “screen shots” on the sales page are maybe a little too high for you to achieve since you’re a starter so you don’t mind if you make a smaller amount. Maybe $500 per month.
As time passes, you realise that after one week of work, you haven’t made any more money. Two weeks later, still poor results. Three weeks later, you give up and try out some other “opportunity” to see if that works instead.
Get the picture?
A lot of so called internet marketeers make their money by selling you the promise of making money! Have they actually made all that money as it says on their sales page? Maybe they have, maybe they made it up. One thing for sure is that the aim is to make money out of YOU who are reading the sales page. They say they want to “show you”, “help you” out of the goodness of their hearts………. You really thought that they spent hours on designing ebooks, marketing lists, advertising all to help you? Is their primary aim not just to make money for themselves?
Of course its all about the money. I don’t condone internet marketeers making money. We all need to make a living! But there are alot of scam artists out there who do not give anything of value apart from recycled information from other peoples ideas. There are also some damn straight out scam artists too!
So the first question is: Are there any products that can genuinely make you money?
Secondly: How can you differentiate them from a scam?
I shall continue this discussion tomorrow……………………
